Haemoglobin is present in a very few species e g derostoma syndesmis telorchis etc. This makes it difficult to work out their relationships with other groups of animals as well as the relationships between different groups that are described as members of the platyhelminthes. These are triploblastic acoelomate dorsoventrally flattened and bilaterally symmetrical organisms found as free living or in the body of a host.
